The Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy process involves ground work with a horse and an Equine Specialist. The focus of the Equine Specialist is to keep everyone safe during the session, as well as bring certain horse behaviors that might add context to the activity to the attention of the client and therapist for deeper discussions and insight.

Your desires for healing and change will guide the goals for our time together and the treatment approach.

Helping you find the truest version of yourself means knowing that you can trust that I’ll show up as my authentic self, too. Gone are the days of the “blank slate” therapist. I understand that you need to trust me in order to share. To build that trust, I may share pieces of my story that help you relate and encourage safety and understanding.

I’m committed (and eager!) to learn. Learn about you. Learn with you. Learn for you. I’m constantly reading and researching topics my clients present during their sessions and I’m committed to pursuing trainings and certifications that will help me provide informed care.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy:

$180 per 50-55 minute session ($110 per 50-55 minute session, plus an additional $70 Horse and Buddy facility and Equine Specialist fee)

Clients may use their insurance benefits for the psychotherapy portion of the session, however the $70 fee related to the Horse and Buddy facility and Equine Specialist are not reimbursable through insurance, therefore would have to be paid out of pocket by the client.

Some Insurance Considerations:

Insurance companies require a “diagnosis” and “patient” to be named. Reimbursement is only given for certain diagnoses. Sometimes insurance companies can limit the frequency and/or amount of your sessions. If you are self-pay, you do not face these limitations. In addition, by using insurance you are giving permission for your insurance company to access the therapy notes regarding the work we are doing in each session.
